Wall of Kindness is a phenomenal charity work and a kind of welfare, usually
done by attaching cloth hangers from outside of houses; those encourage people
to donate miscellaneous useful things such as winter clothing.
Youth Parliament aims to engage the youth in campaigns to make a positive difference in their communities. With this aim Youth Parliament cabinet members from Punjab initiated "Wall of Kindness" (Deewar-e-Shafqat) at Haweli Lakha, Okara.
"Once in a meeting Chairman Youth Parliament Rizwan Jaffar said:
"Think Globally, Act Locally". Take initiatives and perform positive actions in your own communities". Therefore inspired from the
idea from social media where we came across similar initiatives in Karachi,
Peshawar and Iran, we initiated "Wall of Kindness" (Deewar-e-Shafqat)
from our home Haveli Lakha", said Khawar Abbas (Federal Cabinet Member-
Youth Parliament). The motive of this wall is to provide shoes, clothes and
other basic necessities to the under-privileged people, he added.
The inauguration ceremony of this Wall of Kindness was held on Labor Day, 1st May 2016. An it was inaugurated by Faqeer Muhammad who is a common laborer of Haveli Lakha and works on daily wages.
The organizers
included Shahzaib Naveed, Sohail Bodla, Shahzaman, Kamal Shah, Qayyum Chohan, Liaquat Ali, Mehmood ul Hassan, Muhammad Murtaza, Muhammad Ahmad, Bahadur Shirazi & Tanveer Khan.
The organizers said they are planning to install similar walls in different parts of the city to promote kindness under the badge of Youth Parliament, "Youth for Services".
